My Most Loved Pieces Of Jewelry
Hey Babes!
Happy Friday! It has been a while since I have posted a fashion related post, mostly because I am wearing the same four articles of clothing every day, but hey, we're in a pandemic. Today, I wanted to do something a little bit different and show you babes, my favorite pieces of jewelry in my collection. These pieces aren't necessarily, the most worn items in my collection, but these ones have sentimental value to me.
During March, my mom and I were going through her jewelry boxes, mainly to condense her clunky pieces from the 80's, and I found this ring in one of her boxes. This gold initial ring belonged to my mom mom or my maternal-grand mother and her first name was Joan. She obviously had very thin fingers, which I was not blessed with, so this ring fits me like a pinky ring, but it is a little big on my pinky. I love this piece and it is very trendy right now to wear initial pieces.
For my 21st birthday, my parents gave me these dainty pearl and diamond stud earrings. I usually wear larger fake pearl studs everyday, but I break these out for special occasions. These earrings are especially important to me, because on my mom's 21st birthday, her mom gave her pearls, so it has become a tradition in our family.
After I studied abroad, * cue the eye rolls *, I considered getting a small tattoo that would read, "La Vita é Bella", to commemorate the experience, but because I am the flakiest person I know, a permeant tattoo is like the worst idea imaginable. I am constantly changing my mind, thanks to my Mercury in Gemini, so I knew I'd regret that decision. Anyway, that summer I was on the Ocean City Boardwalk and I found this bracelet from Mantra Band! The phrase translates to "the life is beautiful" and it is a daily reminder for me to appreciate the small things.
In 2013, I was obsessed with statement necklaces. I had an embarrassing amount of them and truthfully looking back now, the majority of them were so fucking tacky. I donated about 95 percent of my collection a while ago and I only kept a few that I still liked or ones that were special to me. This red floral necklace, was my favorite and I coveted it for months before finally purchasing it. It was always sold out online, because it was like the preppy girl must have necklace! Mine is from Bauble Bar and maybe in ten years, it'll be trendy again.
I was in middle school in 2007 and back then, you were THAT bitch if you had a Tiffany & Co. bracelet or necklace. I received the silver bracelet for Christmas when I was in eighth grade and I wore it everyday for years. It has begun to tarnish, but that is due to my lack of care, and not because of the quality of the product. I really need to clean it, but I cherished this item for years and if God willing, I have a daughter one day, I would pass it down to her.
Those are the five pieces from my jewelry collection that mean the most to me. These items are not the most expensive or the ones I reach for everyday, but they all represent a significant time in my life and have sentimental value to me.
Which piece of jewelry in your collection is your most loved?
xoxo,
Kelly
