My Bridgerton Birthday Soirée

Hey Babes!

When I was deciding on how I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year with my friends, I immediately wanted to do something Bridgerton inspired. Last year, I threw a boho backyard birthday party, complete with a wooden pallet table and a viewing of scary island (iykyk) on a projector. This year, I wanted something a touch more elegant. So, today I’m going to take you through my birthday planning process.

Party Prep

Of course, my planning process always begins on Pinterest with a mood board. While I wanted a Bridgerton party, I wanted a dinner party and not a tea party. I really honed in on the romantic tone of the show and placed an emphasis on dainty florals and lit candles. It’s all about your interpretation of the theme. I could have gone with bumble bees and tea cups, but that felt like too much of a baby shower to me.

After curating the desired vibe, I send out a video invitation to my friends, because extra is my middle name.

I also sent out the dinner party menu to my friends, because when you get old, bitches need to bring their Pepcid and their Lactaid with them. I popped my daily dose of Nexium in the morning to prepare for the feast. When planning a menu, I like to take into account any dietary restrictions and of course food preferences. As a picky eater, it’s important to me that my guests will have a variety of options.

None of these recipes were actually in a Bridgerton cookbook or inspired by the show, but they were all named after characters from the show, because I like to stick to a theme!

The Lewk

While I wanted to really stick to the regency era vibe, I also wanted to make it my own. My ensemble was inspired by Bridgerton obviously, and my queen Blair Waldorf. I opted for a short white dress with large sleeves and a pearlized pink headband. I added on a pair of pink and purple statement earrings and I borrowed a pair of little white gloves!

The Table

I wanted a minimalistic yet elegant table scape. I found small scent free votive candles at Walmart, these potpourri vases were discounted at Michael’s, my flower vases are from the Target dollar spot and I found inexpensive dainty flowers at the grocery store.

Pro Tip: It doesn’t have to be expensive to look beautiful.

I used my mom’s fine China, much to her dismay, but I did purchase these cutie glasses from HomeGoods and I am obsessed with them. I also prefer to use cloth napkins for my soirées, and they are pretty inexpensive, plus they wash well!

As for the actual dining table, I used a large folding table that my parent’s have had for years. We use them for parties and for extra seating at Thanksgiving. I hauled one outside and I also carried out my mom’s dining room chairs, because honestly our deck furniture just did not pass the Bridgerton vibe check.

Entertainment

Besides riveting conversation and salacious gossip, we played the Bridgerton Monopoly game and we also of course had to watch the first episode of Bridgerton on Netflix.

Hiccups

When you’re preparing for a soirée, you can’t expect everything to go according to plan. I ordered edible flowers, paper fans and white gloves from Amazon and my package was lost in transit.

So, I had to pivot. I went ahead without the fans, I found edible flowers at a speciality grocery store and my friend Lauren let me borrow her white gloves! Which I really appreciated.

I also think that it’s important not to stress yourself out while planning an event or party. There will be hiccups along the way, but you just have to roll with the punches!

I hope you babes enjoyed this post! Maybe next year, I’ll plan a luxurious trip for my birthday! Baby needs a vacation.

xoxo,

Kelly
