Why I Workout With A Trainer

Hey Babes!

I was having a conversation the other week with a close friend, who recently started working out with a trainer and I realized that it's not something I talk about frequently. Truthfully, it feels kind of pretentious and gross to say that I workout with a trainer. It's a little embarrassing for me to admit, so I usually just say that I am going to the gym, because that's mostly true! Is that strange? It feels unnecessary, like I'm 24 and I could do this on my own like everyone else, but I prefer to have help.

Why Do I Have A Trainer?

I work out with a trainer because it takes the guess work out of what to do, how to do each exercise and how many reps I should complete and at what pace. A trainer also keeps me accountable, because I have an appointment or scheduled time every week. If I were to solely workout on my own, "I'd just do it tomorrow" or "later". I also don't have to worry about if I'm doing something wrong or anyone staring at me giving me intense anxiety. It is what works best for me right now.

Do I Workout On My Own?

Yes, I do workout on my own. I do cardio on my own and I stretch frequently, because it makes me feel good. I get on my rinky-dink little treadmill and get a mile in to start off my day on the right foot. I don't go to the gym on my own, because it is intimidating! With that being said, I would like to try a workout class.

Is A Trainer For Everyone?

No, I don't think so. If you are self-disciplined and unafraid of the gym or workout classes, then no I don't believe you need a trainer to help you. If you need a push or someone to keep you accountable, and you have the resources to do so, then I think you should try it out. I have had a trainer before and it wasn't the right fit, not everyone is for everyone. Find someone who you are comfortable with and someone who you trust knows what they are doing.

Have you ever worked out with a trainer or are you a gym rat on your own?

xoxo,

Kelly
