An Update

Hey Babes! 

Today, I wanted to catch you all up to speed on what’s been going on in my small universe! Let’s chat! 

First off, right before Christmas my family was directly exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, everyone is okay and all of our tests came back negative. The person we were around was asymptomatic, but that just goes to show that you really can never be too careful. We’re lucky. Not everyone gets that lucky. 

Anyway, I took my first of two COVID tests in a CVS drive thru, and my nose has been bloody since. I don’t know if I stuck the swab up too far or if my sinuses are just angry with me, but I’ve had a dried bloody nose for like over two weeks now. I was cursed with small nasal passages, which could be why my voice is so high pitched. On top of that, I have an infection in my wisdom teeth. 

I fucking hate going to the dentist. So I did everything in my power to avoid going. I rinsed with salt water. I took hot and cold compresses to my face, I even popped extra strength Tylenol and nothing worked for me. I think laying down in the middle of the street and having someone run me over with a car would have felt better than the agony I was in.  Finally, I went in to see the dentist who legit looked at my xray for five seconds and said... “ooh that’s not good.” 

My jaw is ever so dainty and I have zero room for extra teeth in my mouth. My wisdom teeth have nowhere to go, so like the ungrateful tenets they are, they decided to pop through my gums and push on my other teeth because they demand to be seen and heard. Thankfully, the medicine is working and the infection is going away and I’ve been managing the pain with Tylenol, hot tea, and warm salt water rinses. I have a consultation with an oral surgeon but in the meantime, I have been watching a ton of TV or rather Netflix and Hulu and massaging my face. 

I finished the final season of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and I was less than enthused. I did not like the ending, even though *Spoiler Alert* I knew Nick and Brina would be endgame, I just knew! Also, Nick is so hot. We STAN. 

I watched Bridgerton TWICE! I am obsessed. I want to read all of the books and I need a second season ASAP! I convinced one of my besties Laura to watch the show and she is also enamored with it. I also forced another bestie of mine Daisy to watch it and it is also safe to say that she LOVES it too.

I’m also currently on season 8 of Real Housewives of Atlanta and I have so many thoughts! I like Kim Fields, but she is too pure to be a Real Housewife. She’s too soft, and I don’t mean that in a mean or harsh way. You have to have a certain level of crazy in your DNA for it to work. I find Phaedra to be perplexing, and I’m firmly on Team Kandi. Porsha is growing on me a lot and I still enjoy Kenya, but her tagline is HORRIBLE. I love that Shereé “Who Gonna Check Me Boo” Whitfield is back in a friend capacity, because I have always loved her! 

Now, this is probably controversial, but I’m not a Cynthia Bailey fan. I’m just not there and I’m not so invested in her storyline. I do hope she grows on me. 

So, that’s what’s new with me. I’ve been at home, resting my face, popping Tylenol and sleeping in. It has been so thrilling and eventful over here!
