My Style Story (08/29/16)

Hey babes!

My name is Kelly and I am a senior Fashion Merchandising and Management major at Philadelphia University. In today’s post I wanted to share with you my style and how I developed an interest in the fashion industry! So, without further ado, let’s get started.

My penchant for fashion began with a pair of red cowgirl boots that I yearned for when I was five years old. Then my appreciation transformed from styling outfits for my Barbie dolls to sketching dresses as I watched copious amounts of Project Runway. Now I no longer daydream about becoming a designer, but look forward to hopefully perusing a career in the fashion industry as a blogger or as a social media director for a clothing brand; like Free People!

If I were to describe my style, like if I had to, I would say that my style is fifty percent suburban soccer mom, and fifty percent boho babe. My go-to looks are usually layered, always oversized, and comfortable yet chic. Personally I believe that when you feel good you look good, and I feel good about myself when I am comfortable, so I stay far away from anything constricting or too tight!

In my #OOTD, I am wearing a black t-shirt dress from Old Navy and layered on top of the dress, I am wearing an oversized zip up sweat jacket from Free People. By adding the sweat jacket on top of the simple dress, I feel like that piece gives the ensemble a sporty vibe. For shoes, I am wearing my Adidas Superstar sneakers. Ever since I studied abroad in Rome, I have been obsessed with wearing sneakers with everything. When I’m not wearing sneakers, I can’t find a single pair of shoes in my closet that I like and that are comfortable! Ugh, the struggle is so real! Anyway, that is what I am wearing in my outfit of the day and I hope you all have enjoyed this post!
