A Total Copycat
Hey Babes!
Is anyone else feeling creatively stumped in quarantine? Usually when I feel stuck, I look for inspiration on social media, Google and e-commerce sites. My favorite place to go to, is Pinterest. I am a Pinterest fiend, and I am constantly scrolling through and pinning images to various boards. I mainly use Pinterest as a creative search engine. I get an idea in my little head, search for images or people and save them to my board so I can revisit it later.
So, I decided to spend some time on my favorite app to look for images that I could easily recreate or interpret at home! I did not buy anything for these photos, I just used what was available to me for my ensembles and props. Since we are in a quarantine, it's not really appropriate to drag my mom out of the house and hold her hostage as I pose against a brick wall. So, I just held her hostage at home, which isn't really that big of a stretch! Also, I take no credit for the original images nor am I claiming that these ideas are ones that I came up with.
LIGHTS. CAMERAS. ACTION!
First Up… I thought this photo of Julia Roberts would be the easiest to recreate, but I underestimated how my short my sweater was and how difficult it would be for me to hug in my knee while sitting on the small stool. But, I actually really like the way these turned out!
Next… There are many variations of a cereal and milk photoshoot, but since I did not want to create a large mess that I would have to clean up, I thought this image would be the best to duplicate. The only flaw in my plan was my dog who was so excited to find me on the floor with a bowl of cereal.
Finally, I thought it would be cool to do a mirror shot! Shout out to my mom who had to sit on the edge of the tub to get the right angle for this photo, since our bathroom mirror stretches along the whole wall.
Those are the photos I recreated! I hope this post inspired you guys to get creative in your house with the things that you have!
xoxo,
Kelly
